Coos Canyon

Coos Canyon: This geologically unique area is known by prospectors around New England as a place to pan or sluice for gold. However, what might be more interesting than gold, are the metamorphic rock formations that make up the canyon walls. Layers of quartzite and schist fold against each other making up this beautiful, ancient bedrock that is definitely worth a look.
