Hunting and Fishing

Hunting and Fishing: Byron forests are home to many game and wildlife. During the Fall and Winter months our cabins host many bird, deer, bear, rabbit, and moose hunters. Ellis Pond (or Roxbury Pond) is known for ice fishing, while, Little Ellis (or Garland Pond) is known to be a summer hangout for trout and perch. Other small ponds in the area such as Swift River Pond, Beaver Pond, and Four Ponds are great fishing as well. For a big lake adventure, we are only 30 minutes from Mooslookmeguntic and Rangeley Lakes. The Swift River is teaming with brook trout and brown trout. Ask at the campground store about local area Registered Maine Guides if you want to plan a guided adventure. Don't forget that we also sell bait.
